Food tour

Taste some Bangladeshi specialties on a guided tour of the local market and food stalls.

The region around Paharpur is famous for its freshly produced sweets and traditional savoury snacks. No trip here is complete without tasting some of these delicacies!

The best way to try the local food is at the market and local guides offer tours that will give you an incredible insight into daily life here. The guides will take you to the best food stalls where you can try different snacks and see how some of them are made. The tour allows to experience the incredibly warm hospitality of Bangladeshi people, while trying locally produced specialties, and the typical Bangladesh black tea.

An English-speaking guide can provide insightful commentary as they explain everything that you’ll see — from street foods, seasonal produce, to religious offerings and colourful clothing that is sold in the market. You can even buy fresh produce from the market and then cook it at your homestay!

The tour takes about two hours and costs Tk 800 per person, which includes sweet and savoury snack foods and tea.
