Patricius Winery is a 100% family-owned winery, 85 hectares, 8 first class vineyards: it is a great choice even on a cloudy day! One is for sure, they have a lot of wine to drink!

Patricius Cellars

Visitors can taste the prizewinning Patricius wines and they can participate in guided tours. Not only the variety of vineyards are reflected in the wines, but the wide range of grape varieties and their age also contribute greatly to the varied world of flavours of their wines.

Welcoming wine tourists is important for us. Both the winery and wine tourism in Hungary were just beginning when our winery in the Várhegy vineyard was completed, and we consciously developed the winery to be a visitor centre too. The 300-year-old press house has tasting rooms, a wine shop and a terrace with an incredible panorama which serves as ideal venues for gastronomic events, concerts and exhibitions and are organically linked to the new winery building with its gravity-flow system.

On a visit to the estate you will taste our wines and see our collection of rare vine varieties. Following the route of grapes you get a view into the gravity-flow winery where you can see the various winemaking stages. If you would like something more than the traditional estate visit, you can take a vineyard tour, wine picnic or tasting of special jams tuned to our wines. The winery and lovely atmospheric wine terrace with its view to the Tokaj Hill and the Bodrog floodplain are a frequent venue for wine tastings, wine dinners, concerts and exhibitions. The wine shop is open to wine lovers year-round.

The Patricius Winery is located in the Tokaj region in the north-east of Hungary, 220 km from Budapest. You take highways M3 and then M30 until Miskolc and continue on road No. 37, in the direction of Tokaj. Between km 41 and 42 on you left side you will find the entrance of the drive way to Patricius.
