Archaeology Tour of Naurzum State Nature Reserve

Along with the natural wonders, the reserves in Saryarka are also home to ancient archaeology.

While it may be the stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity that gets most of the attention at Saryarka, there are also some fascinating archaeological sites in the region, particularly surrounding Naurzum State Nature Reserve. To explore them, you can hire local guides who will take you to places like Ekidyn 1, an ancient monument made of natural stone called Dyn. Local legends talk about the site located on the Kara-Turgai river where the bloody battle between two clans and the ritual meaning of this site.

There's also the Necropolis Bestamak, located in northern Torgai next to the river Ubagan. The ancient settlement held the Treasures of Bestamak and part of the cultural heritage of Kostanay. In the same area of Bestamak is the Lisakovsk archaeological site, which dates back to the Bronze Age and the Andron peoples. The best place for information is the Lisakovsk Museum of History and Culture of the Top Pritobolje.

Next on a tour of ancient discovery is the Kostanay Geoglyphs. These large stone designs suggest a sanctuary, yet the method continues to puzzle with its unique construction. There are 260 of these earthen constructions in various shapes and sizes.
