Bungee Jumping at the Isthmus
The platform is located below the Corinth footbridge 80 metres above sea level, and many say that this is one of the best spots for bungee jumping in the world. As you drop, you feel the wind in your face as you head closer and closer to water, thinking that surely you have lost your mind. Once it is done, of course, you can’t wait to do it all over again.
What makes the Corinth Isthmus jump unique is the legendary view. The first step of the experience is being weighed in before the bungee chords are attached to your feet and you put on a harness. Next, you step out onto the bungee platform, where you are weighed again by the jumpmasters so they can attach the right rope. Then there’s a final safety check, and away you go! You can ask the jumpmaster to lengthen the rope just enough to allow you to touch the water.
After your jump into the historical canal, get your land feet back with a hearty meal of souvlaki at one of the historical grills along the old national highway. Take the time to learn about the history of the area with a visit to the Sanctuary of Isthmia and an exploration of the trail of the “diolkos,” an ancient track that enabled boats to be moved overland between the Saronic and Corinthian gulfs.
