Explore the palace’s park

Beyond the manicured Gardens of Versailles lies the Park, a perfect place for some active exploration.

The Park at Versailles extends the gardens seamlessly thanks to the creation of two large water features: the Grand Canal and the Lake of the Swiss Guards. It covers approximately 800 hectares, criss-crossed by straight paths marking out wooded areas and agricultural fields.

You can discover the park on foot, with kilometres of trails to walk or jog. The paths take you through beautiful landscapes along the water and amongst the trees.

The trails are also perfect for cycling. You can bring your own bike or you can hire one within the park. When more than one hire point is open, you can pick up the bike from one and drop it off at another.
