Guided walking tours

Discover more about the vital role that Kew plays in helping us to better understand plant life and the future of the planet.

Kew's team of 70 volunteer guides has a wealth of knowledge and expertise to share with you. If you're interested in hearing some of it, you can join the daily walking tours that are offered free of charge.

You'll be able to get an insight into the incredible diversity of plants and the vital role in botanical understanding that Kew Gardens provides. There are specialised guided tour subjects including a general history of Kew, seasonal highlights, Kew's 'Old Lions' (its heritage trees), and even the Gardens' involvement in WWI and WWII.

Tours will include a visit to one of the glasshouses wherever possible and so are generally limited to 15 people per tour. All tours are subject to availability and can be booked with the Visitor Information desk at Victoria Plaza. The number of tours available varies according to the time of year but there are always at least two tours per day that visitors can experience. Private tours are also available for a charge.
