Join the Garrigue en Fête festival
Every year, during the Easter weekend, the Pont du Gard site organises a festival to celebrate the return of spring and the reawakening of nature. Pathways come alive to the sound of bands, glades become picnic sites and siesta spots, set against a musical backdrop, and olive groves are transformed to theatres, concert halls or circus arenas.
A farmers' market sets up on the left bank where you can discover all the gastronomic delights produced by the region. To celebrate the occasion, paths and sections of the ‘Mémoires de Garrigue’ trails are transformed into performance and art spaces.
Throughout the day, wherever you turn, you'll discover a range of events like a circus show, an accordion player, or a giant game for children.
During this two-day event, there are also a number of workshops where you can learn about some of the more unusual animal and plant species to be found in this distinctive setting. A team of budding facilitators will tell you all about the local flora and fauna, including mammals, insects and protected species.
