Local food

As well as classic German dining, you'll find influences from the immigrants who made this city their home.

"You eat with your eyes," they say. For this reason, you might like to take a stroll through Potsdam and look out for some of the culinary highlights.

The restaurant Drachenhaus (Dragon's House) at Sanssouci Parkis is not just a feast for the eyes, the food served here is also exquisite. It's classic German cuisine presented in a historic, royal ambience.

A special restaurant is Kade's Restaurant in Pfingstberg, which is only a stone's throw away from the Belvedere Pfingstberg. The best German cuisine is offered on the terrace overlooking Potsdam or by the crackling fireplace.

Traditional cuisine also awaits you in the Russian Colony Alexandrovka, where Russian choir boys once lived. Today you will find, among other things, an inviting tea room. Served here are, of course, not German, but Russian specialties.

Potsdam is a city that was not only architecturally inspired by Europe. It is also shaped by its immigrants - by the French, Dutch, Russians, and so the history and culture in Potsdam is experienced through the stomach.
