The Moenchehaus Museum, located in a half-timbered house from the 16th century, showcases modern and contemporary art. Its rotating collection includes selected works and exhibits from prestigious international artists and Kaiserring award-winners like Christo, Anselm Kiefer, Olafur Elliason, and Nam June Paik.
Since 1975, the Kaiserring award has been given, by the city of Goslar, to a distinguished international artist of modern and contemporary art. It is one of the most sought-after art prizes worldwide. The first recipient of the ring was Henry Moore, who is known for his abstract sculptures.
