Sightjogging

Here’s how you can explore the World Heritage site while going for a run with a tour guide.

If you are a recreational runner and want to discover the 100 hectares of Zollverein, then ‘sightjogging’ might be the thing for you. It’s a trendy sport that combines informative and entertaining sightseeing with health-conscious jogging.

Lace up your jogging shoes and join a tour guide from Simply Out Tours for a run. They know their way around the extensive grounds and can tell you numerous interesting facts about the eventful history and change of Zollverein.

The grounds are ideal for active experiences and can be discovered and enjoyed in the fresh air. The site is over 70 percent greened or wooded and the running track along Ring Promenade connects Shafts 1/2/8, Shaft XII and the Coking Plant.

If you’re not sure about running, you can book a guided bike tour instead. The guided tours are offered in German and English. Other languages are available on request.
