Skiing
A spoil heap transformed into a black and white mountain is an amazing experience. Built on a 129-metre-high spoil heap, this 320-metre-long ski slope offers a unique view of the chain of spoil heaps. The history of the place is evidently that of the miners and the collieries that were closed one after the other. However, it is also a story of a collective ambition: to make this place live again.
The ski slope, like a white carpet, is kept constantly moist in order to ensure that the skis glide. The site is designed with a half-pipe, jumps and moguls. Beginners to seasoned skiers alike slide, surf, jump, and sometimes fall… so put on your skis for some thrills and spills!
At the foot of the slopes is a wooden room with large bright bay windows and a cheerful and bustling mountain lodge atmosphere. There is something for everyone-families, young and old alike-and when the sun is shining, there are magical views of the slopes and the rising mists.
A lake was dug a few hundred metres away, on the site of a second slag heap. A winched cable system allows you to slide the water, on a classic water ski, or six other options with different practices, such as wake-boarding, for even more sensations.
