St. Anton Manor House

St. Anton is dominated by the baroque-classicistic manor house built in 1744, on the site of a previous castle founded in the 15th century. The manor house had four entrances to symbolise the seasons of the year, seven arcades for the days of the week, 12 chimneys for the months of the year, 52 rooms for the weeks in the year, and 365 windows.
In the past, the manor was owned by the Kohary and Coburg families. You will find here many rare jewels of furniture and ornamented furniture set by Johan Mann from Augsburg in 1719. One of the most famous pieces of furniture—a golden parlour—was a wedding gift from the Empress Maria Theresa to her daughter Marie Antoinette, who became Queen of France. One should not overlook the baroque chapel with its beautiful wall frescoes painted by Anton Schmidt, as well as the possessions of Ferdinand Coburg—the former Bulgarian Tzar and the last owner of the manor house.
The Hunting Museum is a part of the exposition, with attractions for children and animal lovers alike. If you enjoy nature, be sure to take a stroll around the beautiful park with its lakes and cascades.
The Museum in St. Anton organises many exhibitions and cultural events every year. The most popular are St. Hubert Days in September, the Festival of Nice Music in July, and the Night Shows in summer.
