Tokaj Festival Cauldron

Summer theatres are popular all over Europe, but few are able to compete with the Tokaj Festival Cauldron (Tokaj Fesztiválkatlan) for its breathtaking views and creative architecture. This open-air theatre opened in 2014 and now hosts a diverse range of performances throughout the year.
The cultural centre was built close to Tokaj town’s city centre in a cauldron-shaped formation in an old stone mine. It became the largest open-air theatre and event space in North Eastern Hungary.
There are various theatre and musical events put on throughout the year but the summer performances are the most popular. It would well be worth your while to have a look at the programme, if you are planning to visit.
The area around the theatre also contains a nice public park and it has become one of the favourite meeting points for the local families.
