Have a Wachau Wedding

Make your wedding even more special with Wachau's spectacular natural and cultural heritage as a backdrop

Wachau has always exerted a magical power of attraction for lovers who want to officially seal their love in a magical setting. This makes the region a popular wedding and engagement destination for Austrian celebrities. You can experience and share this magic at your big event.

The most romantic time for a wedding is in spring, when the blossoms of thousands of fruit trees cover the gardens and orchards in a flowery bride's veil. In summer, a wedding in the vineyards is one of the unique spots to say "I do". In autumn, nature presents itself in the most colourful way.

A famous open-air wedding location is the Tausendeimerberg hill in Spitz, but you can also marry on unusual spots, like the cable ferries on the Danube. The two abbeys of Göttweig and Melk and the former monastery of Dürnstein offer wonderful locations for a church wedding, while the historic walls of Aggstein Castle or the little baroque palace Kellerschlössl are options if you want to feel some historical spirit. Various wineries like Prandtauerhof or Nikolaihof are also beautiful locations for weddings.

If you can't decide on one spot and want to see all of Wachau's beauty on your special day, just charter a boat and get married there.
