Rendez-vous and the forest Chapel of St. Hubert
Rendez-vous has the form of a Roman triumphal arch, built in the Corinthian style, is dedicated to the patron of hunting Diana. It was a meeting place for the aristocracy during hunting trips. The Arch of Trajan in Benevento was the most likely model for Rendez-vous. During a guided tour you can learn more about the history, exterior and interior of this building, which is situated in a beautiful forest setting with a pond.
St. Hubert's Chapel is located in the Boří les forest between Valtice, Lednice and Břeclav. It is triangular shaped with three Gothic arches and a ribbed vault, designed by Jiří Wingelmüller and built in 1855 under the rule of Alois II Prince of Liechtenstein. In the middle of the chapel, there is a statue of St. Hubert standing on a pedestal with statues of angels.
The chapel marks a crossroad of tourist routes—the yellow-marked route passes from Břeclav to Hlohovec and the red-marked route from Valtice to Lednice.
